The TruDisk is a high-power solid-state laser for the welding, cutting, and surface processing of metals. It impresses above all in situations that require the combination of high power and maximum beam quality. The new generation of TruDisk lasers provides you with great advantages, above all due to its much more compact footprint and increased robustness. It also has intelligent inner parts. The data quality of the sensor systems which monitor all the important parameters in the laser has been improved significantly so that the new TruDisk lasers are perfectly prepared for future Industry 4.0 services such as condition monitoring. The TruDisk operates economically in all laser states due to increased efficiency, a new pulse function with increased energy efficiency, and intelligent energy management.
The beam guidance, power supply, cooling, and control of the TruDisk lasers have a modular design. All components are located in compact housing and are perfectly coordinated with each other. The result is extremely reliable and robust laser systems, which prove themselves even in extreme ambient conditions. The flexible cooling concept allows you to choose between an integrated heat exchanger (standard) and compressor cooler (optional).
As a result of the disk geometry, your TruDisk achieves excellent beam quality that extends into the multi-kilowatt range. As a laser medium, the disk in the TruDisk ensures brilliant beam quality up to 2 mm·mrad. This enables you to achieve optimal results in processes such as remote and hybrid welding, or high-speed cutting. The patented resonator design means also that your TruDisk can also process highly reflective materials.
The TruDisk has active power factor correction, four programmable energy-saving modes, an optimized cooling system, and it communicates in the intelligent PROFIenergy network. These properties enable it to use energy extremely efficiently.
The modular, compact, and simple design of the TruDisk offers you the utmost flexibility and availability in every regard. Individual components such as beam guidance, power supply, cooling, and TruDisk control can therefore be replaced quickly and easily.
The integrated, active laser power control ensures your processes are stable and that you therefore always have reproducible results. The power of the TruDisk is controlled in real-time. The active laser power control stabilizes the laser power to deviations of +/- 1% and thereby keeps the process constant, regardless of ambient influences. You, therefore, benefit from the greatest power stability on the market – throughout the entire service life of your laser.
With the TruDisk you can take a big step towards a Smart Factory. Due to the laser’s connectivity via OPC/UA, optimum networking of the laser is guaranteed – a standardized and reliable solution. With Condition Monitoring, you also have full transparency at all times concerning all laser states via dashboards. The Precision Time Protocol also ensures coordination of all sensors with precise timing, and remote access ensures convenient service from anywhere.
You can weld materials such as mild or stainless steel or even copper and aluminum with almost no spatter thanks to the patented TRUMPF BrightLine Weld technology. But how does it work exactly? Our patented TRUMPF 2in1 laser light cable (LLK) always contains an inner and an outer fiber core. This means that within the laser, the laser power can be flexibly distributed among the core, the ring of the 2in1 LLK, and the application-specific optimum. Depending on the material, the power distribution can be set so that it is ideal for the desired result.
